HALOX XTAIN A - Description
HALOX® XTAIN A is a premium, multi-valent tannin stain inhibiting pigment used in exterior architectural wood coatings. It was designed to react with tannin derivates and prevents their migration into the topcoat in a variety of resin systems such as acrylic latexes, vinyl acrylic latexes, and styrenated acrylic latexes.

HALOX® XTAIN® A contains zirconium and aluminum cations which chelate phenolic side groups in tannic acid. It is effective at very low dosages (0.5-3.0% TFW) and is barium and antimony-free. HALOX® XTAIN A will provide cost savings due to the lower dosages needed to stop tannin bleed.
