CARBOWET 109

CARBOWET 109 is a nonionic surfactant that has been designed as an effective alternative to alkylphenol ethoxylate surfactants (APEs) containing approximately 8-9 moles of ethylene oxide. CARBOWET 109 is a 100% active, low viscosity liquid that provides rapid pigment and substrate wetting. It offers benefits in a wide range of applications such as architectural and industrial coatings, adhesives, pigment synthesis and dispersion, inks. CARBOWET 109 surfactant is easy to use and incorporate. It provides cost-effective surface tension reduction and rapidly soluble in water, not prone to gel formation. CARBOWET 109 contains no added solvent or APEs. It adds no VOCs and has several food contact compliances. CARBOWET 109 was found to contribute no VOC under EPA Method 24 testing conditions when evaluated at 1.0 wt.% in a zero-VOC formulation, making it suitable for applications where low VOC is required.
