MODIFIER 715

MODIFIER 715 is a SiH-terminated polydimethyl siloxane modifier which is used as a plasticizer in addition-curing silicones. Due to its difunctional structure, MODIFIER 715 does not react by cross- linking, but by extending the chains of vinyl-terminated silicone polymers. Use of MODIFIER 715 reduces the crosslinking density and therefore the elastomen hardness. This allows obtaining products with a low Shore hardness, even when using low- viscosity vinyl polymers. MODIFIER 715 is therefore used in formulations that have a low viscosity prior to crosslinking and should have low Shore hardness after crosslinking. Another important application of MODIFIER 715 is the formulation of silicone gels. MODIFIER 715 helps in developing advanced materials with tailored properties like low hardness and viscosity for specialized applications in industries.
